Uniself reinforces hospital care with food donations

Uniself, a Portuguese food service company, has been monitoring the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic and has decided to support teams working in hospitals, reinforcing its services in the units it supplies throughout the country.

In this context, Uniself reinforced the teams allocated to the units and will support with food donations. In the first phase, 3,000 bottles of water and 3,000 packets of juice – non-perishable and easy-to-handle goods – will be donated to Hospital de São José, Hospital Dona Estefânia and the IPO in Lisbon.

“The country is going through an unprecedented health crisis, we want to be close to those who are on the front lines fighting this pandemic. It is our duty as a national company with social responsibility to support the country in this difficult time,” said the president of Uniself, emphasizing that this contribution to hospitals “will be an important help for the teams that are working daily in very demanding shifts and schedules,” said Mateus Alves.

Uniself celebrates 40 years in 2021. The company is dedicated to collective food and operates in several areas, including schools, hospitals, official bodies and private company cafeterias. This performance is seen in several units, at customer facilities, spread throughout the mainland and islands.

The company has been strengthening and establishing its position in the market, basing its operations on strict quality and food safety criteria. Quality, food safety and healthy eating are values intrinsic to Uniself’s mission, implementing inspection processes by an internal team made up of internal technical resources, operational inspectors and nutritionists, who ensure control of the entire production chain.
